What We Do
Protecting and documenting indigenous knowledge systems by validating South African traditional medicinal plants through scientific laboratory screening and community-led public health programs.
Collaborating with traditional health practitioners to document ethnobotanical remedies, preserve oral histories, and establish respectful intellectual property frameworks in rural communities.
Conducting advanced laboratory research, including phytochemical profiling, bio-guided fractionation, and cell-based assays, to test the biological activity of local plant extracts.
Validating traditional plants used for diabetes mellitus. We evaluate their glucose-uptake stimulation, enzyme inhibition (alpha-amylase/glucosidase), and antioxidant profiles.
Running safety workshops in rural villages of Limpopo. We teach communities about natural remedy dosages, drug-herb interactions, and sustainable plant harvesting.

We validate traditional health practices through rigorous biomedical testing, biochemistry, and peer-reviewed scientific studies.
We strictly follow Nagoya Protocol guidelines, ensuring benefit-sharing and prior informed consent with rural healers who guard indigenous knowledge.
We redirect academic resources and donations to support public health, volunteer training, and research capacity in rural South African villages.
Your CSI contribution or donation directly funds laboratory assays, safety sheets, and healer workshops across South Africa.
